Biography of artist Albert Tucker (1914-99), a self-taught painter who delighted in painting the dark side. He was a key figure in the Australian art scene during the early 1940s, along with Arthur Boyd and Sidney Nolan. Includes photos, notes, bibliography and index. Author has lectured in art history and has degrees from the University of Melbourne and La Trobe University.
