About

On the Road is located in Naarm (Melbourne) on the stolen lands of the Wurundjeri Woiwurung people. This land always has and always will be Aboriginal land, and we pay respects to the traditional owners who have been custodians here for many thousands of years.

On the Road Books is run by Lefa Singleton Norton, who has a passion for Australian literature.

It is her hope that this venture will find new homes for secondhand books which may otherwise languish unappreciated on op-shop shelves or (horror of all horrors) end up in landfill if their original readers don’t have space to store them.

With a curated collection of high quality titles on offer, On the Road Books gives great literature another round of life in readers’ hands.

We proudly Pay the Rent and encourage all Australian businesses to do so too! For us, this means donating 10% of all profits to The Indigenous Literacy Foundation.
